Proposal for a complete masterplan of ten new universities within Libya.
The project for the Libyan Government's Organisation for the Development Administrative Centres (ODAC) saw the design and masterplan of ten university campuses around Libya in environments including the Sahara desert, the mountains and the coastal regions.
The centres were designed to be world-class learning environments for the region, as well as opening up the country to the West whilst meeting high sustainable and environmental design standards to create all-round centres of excellence.
Each university had to relate to specific microclimates, thus creating ten truly unique proposals.
I worked as part of a large team on the masterplan of university campuses and the design of faculty buildings. Due to the location of the project I learned the significant design strategies when dealing with a hot climate.
